Lugol’s Iodine 2% and 5% Solution
The thyroid requires iodide and gets little benefit from iodine alone. Every cell in the body needs iodine or iodide.

Calculating Number of mg’s of Iodine and Iodide per Drop of Lugol’s Solution:
2%: Each drop (= 1/20ml) is approximately 1.0 mg of iodine and 2.0 mg of potassium iodide. The Iodide portion of Potassium Iodide is about 1.5 mg, plus 1 mg of iodine, which equals 2.5 mg.
5%: Each drop (= 1/20ml) is approximately 2.5 mg of iodine and 5.0 mg of potassium iodide. The Iodide portion of Potassium Iodide is about 3.75 mg plus 2.5 mg iodine = 6.25 mg.
Recommended dose: Five drops of 2% or two drops of 5%, 12.5mg, daily in water. This is based on the Japanese diet, which comes mainly from seaweed.
Approximately 2050 drops per 4 oz. Store at room temperature out of direct sunlight. Does not expire. No need to refrigerate. To use as a water purifier, add 3-6 drops per litre of water.
